I have finally gotten on the craze of the "powders" and of course I'm here starting with some holographic powder. Just before Bundle Monster released their new Winter Kingdom plates, they released a holographic powder of their very own. It's about time right? Usually powders like this or the chrome powders are super expensive and come from a far off country and takes MONTHS to get to me, so I was RIGHT on this to order. Only $15 for a little pot of it and if you time it just right, you may even fall on their discounts! From all the videos I've seen, you need gel and I've never dabbled with gel before so bear with me!
Here I've used their peel off gel base coat, their black gel polish, and their gel top coat which all need to be cured under UV light. Me being new to this wasn't sure how gel worked so I apologize for the pooling at the edges making the manicure look a little chunky... mainly on the middle two fingers. This gel polish is amazing though; very easy to work with and is hella shiny. I think I spent most of the time curing it because I wasn't sure what I was really doing and I wanted to make sure it was completely set before moving on.
I used some liquid latex barrier before applying the holographic powder. All you have to do is use one of those cheap eye shadow brushes (you know, the ones you got in those dollar kits from Wal-Mart as a pre-teen in the 90s) and dab it on the nails until you get it fully covered. Top with a gel top coat and cure.
Doesn't it look amazing though?? Jury is still out on whether or not the gel peel off base works because they've been on my nails for a week. I will give updates! What do you think of this ultra holo design?
