Zombie faces were done using black and white acrylic paint.  All was finished off with matte!

Happy Halloween everyone!

13 Days of Halloween: Candy Corns

I realize that I have the colors mixed around a little, but you have to admit.. you immediately thought candy corn (and not just because of the title). ;)

I have a base color in OPI's Alpine Snow from the Tuxedo Collection, and it was done over with a gradient of I Just Can't Cope-acabana from the Brazil Collection and Can't AFjord Not To from the Nordic Collection.
Over the top using a black and silver glitter striper, I painted the design.  That's it!

13 Days of Halloween: Polka Dot Webs

Base color in OPI's Can't AFjord Not To from the Nordic Collection.
Using a white Konad stamping polish and Konad plate, I stamped on the polka dots.  Then, using a black striper, I painted on the spider webs near the cuticles.

This idea came from Nailed It! magazine and I thought it was honestly the cutest thing ever.  Hope you like it!!

13 Days of Halloween: Frankenstein Tips

There is no base color with this design, just my natural nail!  They look good right?? :)
The tips were simply done using China Glaze's Def Defying from the World's Away Collection.  The stitches were done using a black striper and it was all sealed off with a top coat!  Very effective, eh?

13 Days of Halloween: Pumpkin Tips

Base color in OPI's Gargantuan Green Grape from the Brights by the Dozen Collection.  The pumpkins were done using Can't AFjord Not To from the Nordic Collection.
I used brown acrylic paint for the stems, green for the leaves, and orange for the stripes on the pumpkins.  I think these are my favorite designs BY FAR.  So.  CUTE!!

13 Days of Halloween: Black Cats

Base color in OPI's I Just Can't Cope-acabana from the Brazil Collection.
Stars were done using black Konad stamping polish and the Bundle Monster Holiday plates (Fourth of July!).  The black cat was done using black and white acrylic paint by hand.

13 Days of Halloween: Halloween Gradient

Base colors in a gradient of OPI's Alpine Snow from the Tuxedo Collection, Can't Afjord Not To from the Nordic Collection, and Funky Dunky from the Shrek Collection.
I taped off stripes using striping tape and painted Black Onyx over the top.  Just a simple and effective design!

13 Days of Halloween: Spooky Toothpick Drag

I think fall is the worst, but I make an exception for October.  Halloween is easily my favorite holiday all year mainly because I have a legitimate excuse to watch horror movies all month long.. :)  To pay tribute to my love of this month, I am doing a 13 day nail art challenge for myself:  13 days of Halloween inspired nail art! Let's go!!!

First off, I have a base color in OPI's Alpine Snow from the Tuxedo Collection.  The stripes were painted with Atomic Orange from the Brights by the Dozen Collection and Black Onyx.
This was done using the toothpick drag technique I did a few weeks back.  Hope you like the first design in my 13 day series of Halloween inspired nails!!

Let's Go Cards!

Last, but certainly NOT the least, the... ST LOUIS CARDINALS!! It's got to be obvious by this point that I'm a fan, but if you didn't know.. I hope they win this series aaannnnnd then the World Series.  So here's another STL inspired manicure.

Base colors in OPI's Alpine Snow from the Tuxedo Collection and Right Off the Bat from the Fashion Plate Collection.
I used red glitter for the gradient, white acrylic paint and a red glitter striper for the logo, and a red glitter striper for the baseball.
As you can see, St. Louis fit pretty perfectly on the nail (although it's backwards).. I loveeeee the way this turned out!  Go crazy folks! ;)

San Francisco Giants Nails

Third up to bat, from the National League are the.... SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS!  Personally, I really want them to lose the series because of my allegiance with the Cardinals..  Sorry bout it. :)

Base colors in OPI's Atomic Orange from the Brights by the Dozen Collection, and Alpine Snow from the Tuxedo Collection.
Glitter gradient was done with black glitter, the logo done with orange and black acrylic paint, and the baseball done with a red glitter striper.
Lastly, the map is of San Francisco, but because it's such a long name and my nail is only so small.. it's more of a Cisco/Oakland nail.

Baltimore Orioles Nails

Next up to bat, the... BALTIMORE ORIOLES!!  Kind of hope they don't win this series because if I have to do World Series nails with the oriole logo.. I may die a little. ;)

Base colors in OPI's Black Onyx from the Tuxedo Collection, Atomic Orange from the Brights by the Dozen Collection, and Alpine Snow.
I used orange glitter for the gradient and black acrylic paint for the O's logo.
The map is of Baltimore and was adhered using rubbing alcohol.

KCCO Nails

A lot of my work friends are all super in love with the Chive and they requested I do a little nail art for it.  Hopefully I did it justice.

Base color in Essie's Mojito Madness.  The glitter gradient was done using OPI's Fresh Frog of Bel-Air from the Muppets Holiday Collection.
The KCCO was done with white acrylic paint and the crown was done with white Konad stamping polish and a Red Angel stamping plate.

Keep Calm and Chive On!

Gargantuan Green Grape?

Base color in OPI's Gargantuan Green Grape from the Brights by the Dozen Collection.
I did the design using a white, black, and silver glitter striper.
I won't lie, I am a little confused about this color.  My original GGG is a super light mint green and because I used it so much, I wanted to replace the bottle. The ones at Ulta were definitely a light mint blue.  Recently, I went into Ulta and noticed that they now have the green ones back.  Just stick to a formula OPI!!!

Regardless.. this design is awesome and simple to do.  Try it out! :)

Base colors in OPI's Alpine Snow from the Tuxedo Collection and Fly from the Nicki Minaj Collection.
I added the dots with a small dotting tool using Fly, I Just Can't Cope-acabana from the Brazil Collection, and Crown Me Already! from the Miss Universe Collection.  This was all finished off with a glossy top coat! Hope you like it!
