Hey Baby!

Base color in OPI's Hey Baby from the Gwen Stefani Collection.
Using a fan brush, I went cuticle to tip with Black Onyx and Alpine Snow from the Tuxedo Collection, and Radiance from the Designer Series Collection.

I always love a classic black, pink, and white look and with all the crazy nails I've been doing lately, I needed something simple and beautiful.  Hope you like it!

Sharpie Mani

Base color in OPI's Black Onyx from the Tuxedo Collection
I took a silver sharpie and colored on the flowers.  Everything was sealed in with a top coat to make it really shiny.  This is super easy nail art for everyone to do so try it!  :)

Lorde's Dip Dyed Mani

If you watched the Grammys last night, you might have noticed some weird thing going on with Lorde's manicure.  Now, I will say it is creepy, but it's kind of cool too.  So naturally, I'll try it!

First off, I painted all of my nails in OPI's Black Onyx from the Tuxedo Collection.  I sealed it in with a top coat and made sure the manicure was dried completely.
Next, using a makeup sponge and some black acrylic paint, I dabbed on a gradient of black.  Now, my best friend saved me here because I was actually going to use black dye on my fingertips.  Could you imagine work the next day??  This is much easier to get off although it....Royal-ly screwed up the finish on my nails.  Matte it is!
So here you have it.  "Dip-dyed" manicure straight off Lorde and apparently the runways as well.
Just me goofing off a little bit.  Can't get the Lorde face down really, but you get the idea.

After looking at this and maybe trying it out yourself, how do you feel about the dip-dyed manicure?  Would you try other colors or skip the trend altogether?  Leave a comment or just whisper it to yourself.. :)

Over & Over A-Gwen

Base color in OPI's Over & Over A-Gwen from the Gwen Stefani Collection.  This was then topped with the Swarovski crystal elements and studs that came with the signature color.  I'm sure I will be doing more designs with the elements because they are really fun and look badass.  :)

Gwen Stefani Collection Swatches

Push and Shove (over Lay Down That Base)
Love. Angel. Music. Baby. (satin finish)
I Sing in Color
4 In the Morning (satin finish)
In True Stefani Fashion (over Hey Baby)
Hey Baby
Over & Over A-Gwen
Over & Over A-Gwen comes in this little red case including Swarovski elements.
This is the inside.

And here's what you get when you open everything up.  It comes with a little look book so you can do your own designs with some inspiration.  The studs and crystals are stuck to the sheet and although they look like they're tarnished, it's just the glue to hold them on which comes right off.  You can use OPI's nail glue, but I find using top coat works just as well without the hassle of super super super glue.

I wanted to show the entire collection because each of the colors came with a custom sleeve.

Here is the signature red along with the creme gloss finishes.

Above are the satin finishes, the chrome, and glitter.

Watercolors!

Base color in OPI's Alpine Snow from the Tuxedo Collection.
Next, using a dotting tool, I dotted on a few drops of each one color at a time.  For the water color effect, I used Orly's Va Va Voom, Frolic, and Frisky.  When you are done dotting on the first color you want to use, you use a small brush and some nail polish remover to spread it around like you see above.
Not sure that I have the technique down quite yet, but I'm sure the next time I try it, I'll find my rhythm.  :)  Hope you enjoy!

French Tip Flowers

There is no base color for this design, and I barely even used nail polish for this!
Using white Konad stamping polish, I stamped on the French Tips.  This was then painted with black and purple acrylic paints to create the flowers.  Using a silver glitter striper, I filled in the flowers and topped it all off with a purple rhinestone to match.
It's a very simple design but very delicate.  Hope you like!

Neon Tribal

Base color in OPI's Black Onyx from the Tuxedo Collection.
This was then painted with white acrylic paint in the design you see above.  This was done to set a base to make sure the neon nail polish would show up brighter!
The neons used were from China Glaze's Sunsational Summer Collection.  This includes, from left to right, Neon & On, Sun of a Peach, Highlight of My Summer, and That's Shore Bright.

Musical Nails

Base colors in OPI's Alpine Snow from the Tuxedo Collection and Purple with a Purpose from the Brights by the Dozen Collection.
Piano keys were stamped on using a Konad stamping plate and black stamping polish.  On either side, I used a silver glitter striper to finish off the look.  On the feature nail, I used black acrylic paint to make little musical notes.

This was per suggestion of a friend at work.. I hope you enjoy them, Chris! :D

Russian Navy Party Flags

Base color in OPI's Russian Navy from the Russian Collection. After this was dry, I drew on the lines and flags in white acrylic paint.  The individual flags were done with light blue, lime green, and purple paint.
When the flags were done, I used Northern Lights to top it all off. I really love the way that this holographic sparkle top coat looks over a navy blue. :)  I hope you enjoy this design!

Stay warm!!

Alpine Snowed In!

Base color in OPI's Alpine Snow from the Tuxedo Collection.  This was left to be completely dry before moving on to the next step.
I then put down a stripe of foil glue and used rainbow foils to finish off the look.  It's simple but it is so pretty!  I wish the picture did the real thing justice.

It's been snowing here like crazy and we've got entirely too much snow.  I'm not happy about it, but I figured what a perfect day to use Alpine Snow. :)  More manicures to come on this snowy day.

Gwen Stefani Inspiration!

I saw this ad and instantly loved the simple yet rocker-esque design on Gwen Stefani's nails...so I wanted to recreate it.  I don't have the collection yet, but I couldn't wait!  Here's what I did.
Base color in OPI's Kiss Me On The Tulips from the Holland Collection.

The design was done with black acrylic paints and a steady hand.  I still have it on my fingers (believe it or not) and I have to say, it looks awesome!  It's super easy to do and very effective. :)
