Spiderman Nails!

Base color in Into the Night from the Spiderman Collection by OPI
Bottle in The Color of Minnie from the Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection by OPI (just for show!)
**This was done with a silver striper, silver glitter striper, a black striper and red acrylic paint with my new tiny tiny tiny brush from Michael's.  I used red acrylic paint for the spiders because it is thicker and shows up better.  Anyways, here are my spiderman nails!

Plastic Wrap Nails

Base color in Zoya's Arizona from the Beach and Surf Collection
Top colors in Zoya's Kimber and Rory also from the Beach and Surf Collection

**This finish is done by plastic wrap.  All you have to do is paint the base color and let it dry completely, then paint one layer of a second color and dab a wad of plastic wrap over the top!  Pretty simple, eh?

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Base color:  Zoya Lara from the Beach and Surf Collection
Feature nail:  Purple with a Purpose from the OPI Brights Collection
Stamp:  Bundle Monster plates with gold Konad stamping polish
Striping:  Shany nail art stripers

**These were inspired by the dvd title page of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air seasons.  I have been watching this show non-stop for the past couple weeks because I've never seen it before!

This is my favorite part of the show!!

Vintage Minnie Mouse

These are both from the Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection:
Base color:  If You Moust, You Moust
Glitter top coat:  Nothin' Mousie About It

If You Moust, You Moust goes on very smoothly with no streaking.  In two coats you get magnificent coverage and shine.  It dries very quickly.  Nothin' Mousie About It is a little bit of a strange glitter top coat; not because it has little confetti hearts in it.  It is pretty thick, like Teenage Dream from the Katy Perry Collection, but doesn't have the large glitter pieces.  It's almost a shimmer of pink and purple with very fine micro glitter pieces.  The confetti hearts is what makes this even more unique to OPI.

Tribal-ish Gradient!

Base color in Zoya's Raven

Red Angel plate stamped with Zoya's Carly, Kimber, and Rory from the Beach and Surf Collection

**This was done using my the nail art plate and painting a strip of Rory, Kimber, then Carly on the tips and wiping off as normal.  When doing so, this creates a gradient as you can see above.  Raven is one of the only black colors that Zoya has out currently and is not completely a flat black, but has a little shimmer to it.  I have been wearing it since Friday (today is almost midnight on Monday) and it has not yet chipped.

Nautical Nails!

Stripes in Dating a Royal from the OPI Brights Collection
Essie's Blanc for the white
The anchor nails are in The Color of Minnie from the Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection

**The Color of Minnie goes on very opaque in one coat, you could really get by with just one coat.  It has a nice shimmer to it, but I only put it on one nail because I really don't like wearing reds.  I don't like how they look with my skin.  It is a very bright red, and kind of has a bit of a pink look to it.

Call Me Gwen-Ever.. There's a Hippie Fest!

Catchy title huh?  I was trying out two new colors this time, one from the Spiderman Collection and the other from an Etsy shop called Wonder Beauty Products.

First off for this design, I started with Call Me Gwen-Ever which is a nice dark orangish, pinkish, coral color.  It is very opaque in two coats but I won't lie to you.. I'm not totally in love with this color.  Yest, I haven't seen a color like this from OPI and it's got a really cool name, but there's nothing completely special about it.  Kind of sad and that is why I decided to glitter it up a little bit!

For the art part of this design, I used my new Hippie Fest jar of nail polish..and yes; I said JAR!  This nail polish can be found on Etsy from the Wonder Beauty Products site.  When you buy this, you get a jar of the concentrated flaky glitters, a bottle of top coat with a brush, and a stirring stick.  I was very confused as to how to use this, but I found out that you pour some of the top coat into the jar of glitter and mix thoroughly.  Also, every time you want to use this, you should stir it up because then all the big glitters go to the top and you can grab them with your brush.  Not only are there big flaky reflective glitters in here, but there is also some micro-glitter shimmer in there to brighten it up.
I feel as thought the orange color of the base color goes well with the blue and green glitter in the Hippie Fest.  It is a real top coat sucker.  Took me two coats to get it the shininess that I want it and the glitters are kind of sharp so you need to make sure they lie flat on your nail.  And another tip.. don't wear a darkish orange when you are tan.. doesn't look so great! :D

Maps on Nails?

Yes that's right everyone.. I took my nerdy love for making maps and threw it on my nails.  I did see this on Pinterest first and I thought it was the coolest thing.. I've never tried the newspaper transfer on my nails, but I decided to try for the maps first.

I bought my 70% Isopropyl Alcohol and a map of the United States and decided to try it out myself.  Let's just say, I haven't really gotten the technique down yet, but it's getting there.  I started with my right hand, as you can obviously tell because they aren't as cool but by my left hand (like usual) I did a lot better.  But before I continue with the maps, I will tell you about my amazing Essie adventure.

I wanted to do a creme for the background, but I decided to just go with a white..but which white should I use?  I have Alpine Snow, Wet n' Wild, Sally Hanson, and lucky me; I found an Essie white that I bought at Trade Secret for $1.  I bought it mainly for dotting purposes, but I figured I would go with it.  Let me tell you!  This was an amazing experience; I have only ever used Essie's Luxeffects and since those are just glitters, I don't really count them as real Essie.  This white, Blanc, goes on kind of streaky at first (but what white doesn't?) but dries in like 5 seconds.. okay, not that quick, but so quick!!  It's smooth and thin but in two coats, it goes on completely opaque.

White.  I can see why that is NOT the color of this season..totally outdated.

Continuing with the maps.. I am so impatient and that's probably why my nails didn't turn out so great, but I am pretty dang happy with them.  I topped it off with my SpectraFlair and here they are!

Drop Dead Diva

Tonight is the night.. what night you ask?  Well, the fourth season premiere of Drop Dead Diva of course!!  I absolutely love this show and when they left with the HUGEST cliffhanger ever last season, I was devastated for a year.  Now.. I get to find out what happens..and don't worry, I won't ruin it for you! ;)  If you take a look at my blog post entitled Mysterious Pinky, it will tell you all about why I always have my right pinky painted blue and has everything to do with this show.

For the premiere, I decided to do my nails a with a little bit of a diva twist.  I first started off with two coats of Zoya Shelby from the Beach Collection.  It is a fabulous bubblegum pink that I used in the last post I did.  Side note.. I really think that the top coat makes the color.  Yes, the color looks fabulous on its own, but when you have the right top coat it makes it even better.  I think that's what happened here.  Love the color and it is amazing, but when I added my new top coat...BAM!
In white Konad stamping polish, I stamped my nails with three different Cheeky plates.  I used a zebra striped kind of stamp with red lips over the top on four of my nails.  The rest, I have little purses, lipstick, heart keys, and a necklace in random patterns.  I topped the whole thing off with some SpectraFlair to make it all POP!  Very, very girlie, but totally amazing.  Oh.. and I can't forget; I have my "Ironic Taffy" on my right pinky!  Can't wait for the premiere! :)
