Sideways Half Moon Manicure...

I have been home for winter break and haven't been doing my nails all too often, so the most recent nail art I did was a sideways half-moon manicure using one of my new colors that I got from the Nicki Minaj Collection.  I used Fly for the larger portion of my nail design then used Alpine Snow for the half-moon.

I did pretty much the same thing I did for the regular half-moon manicures in which I painted two layers of Alpine Snow for my base color, then used three-hole-punch enforcers (circular stickers) to do a half-moon.  I then painted two layers of Fly over it.  Pretty simple but I loved the effect.  Here it is.

Holiday Sparkles..

I did a couple of my friend's nails today and they were masterpieces! (By my standards.. :D)  Naturally..I just had to post pictures of them!

One of my friends wanted to have something Christmas themed seeing as Christmas is just around the corner!  I decided to do red and silver glitter candy cane stripes on all of the nails except for one in which I did a gradient.  For the gradient, I used my body glitter that I bought at Wal-Mart for $.97 and I used silver, light green, and dark green.  On the thumb nails, I used my Konad stamper of the holiday images and did a green Christmas tree with Merry Christmas in black over the top.

On the second set of nails I did, she wanted a wintery theme for them.  I used Designer Series Radiance for the base color and did a kind of gradient thing with light blue glitter on all of the nails.  I used my stripers of light blue and white to make little snowflakes on all of the nails.  To top it all of with these glittery winter princess nails, I put rhinestones in the centers of all the snowflakes.

Here they are!  Enjoy! :D

Gettin' Miss Piggy With It..

I'm not quite ready for the full out Christmas look yet for my nails, so I'm dipping my toes into the season.  It's got a little Christmas to it but not completely...

I first started off using Black Onyx and painted all of my nails that color.  On my feature nail, I used my Konad image plates of M17/18 for the HO HO HO.  On the rest of my nails, I used Gettin' Miss Piggy With It from the Muppets Collection over the top.  I really enjoy this design and I love the red glitters with the black underneath.

I was studying in my room today with a friend and he saw my wheels of nail art that I've done.  He asked me if I could do a design for him and I asked him of what?  He chose a Minion from Despicable Me.  I took his challenge and this is what I came up with.  I think he's adorable. :D

I used Need Sunglasses? for the color of the minion and French Quarter for your Thoughts? for the rim of the glasses.  The rest of the colors were from my stripers.

Of course I couldn't really add any arms to him, but I think it still gets the point across.

This is also an older design I did back in the summer.. I used Purple With a Purpose from the Brights Collection.  This is by far my favorite color that I have in all of my colors.  I don't think I've used a color more than I have this color.

This is a really nice, bright, shimmery purple that goes opaque in just two coats.  For the design I have on the left, I did a glorified french tip with white stamping polish and an image plate of BM-206.  (Bundle Monster)  To finish off the design, I used a silver glitter striper to make the lines a little neater.. I was really surprised with myself when I did this design because I actually did it pretty well on my left hand.  That's a challenge.
I am showing you a little bit of an older design that I did when the Touring America Collection came out.  This base color is called I Eat Maine-ly Lobster.  It's a really nice dark salmon color that has a nice shimmer to it.  It takes a couple coats to get it opaque but it's a nice summery color.

Over the top, I used a Konad image plate M63 for the ribbons.  They are the purple special polish.  Then, over some of them, I put some silver glitter to accentuate the ribbons.

Gavie Green..

I'm branching out.  This is a new concept to me, but I decided to try it since a lot of other people can use other brands, so why can't I?

I decided to go with the brand Chick Nail Polish because I saw it on a blog and it look really awesome.  They are a little more expensive than OPI but I got three of them.  What's special about this brand of polish is that they have a unique palette and they are free of the Big 3:  formaldehyde, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and toluene. (

The first color I decided to try out was Gavie Green, and I was so happy with this color.  It is a really nice bright green, like no other color I have, and it is very shimmering.  Without a base coat, you get a really nice matte finish, but with a top coat, I got a nice glossy shimmer I desire.  In one coat, you get a nice opaque color, but I put two for good measure.  It didn't chip at all for almost five days (after that I get bored so I changed it).  It was great.  I'm definitely going to get some more.

Rainbow Connection..

My next Muppets Collection color in a long list of them was Rainbow Connection!  I freaking adore this color..When I had ordered it along with the 11 others that came in the collection, I was super depressed to find that this color was the one that had broken in the pack.  The seller was gracious enough to send me a new one because I figured this was the color everyone would NEED.

According to a lot of people, this color is a duplicate of Deborah Lippman's Happy Birthday, and I must say, this is a WAY cheaper alternative if that's what you want.  (About $10 cheaper!)  I really love this glitter polish..It has multiple sizes and colors of glitter with a clear base color.  If you want to just have glitter on your nails, you would need about 2-3 generous coats to make it opaque.  But if you put it on a background you can create different moods...which sounds weird.

I put Rainbow Connection on top of Alpine Snow, also by OPI, and it looks like birthday threw up all over my nails.  It's fantastic.

I had my nails painted with Designer Series Opulence because it was my newest color.  It's a very pretty light pink with multicolored sparkles.  Like all Designer Series colors, it is super shiny and beautiful.  Goes on really nicely in just two coats.

Over the top, I used my white striper and my marbelizing tools to create little snowflakes on top.  I could have easily done a Konad image, but I thought I would try something on my own.  Hope you enjoy!

(The picture on the left obviously didn't do the color justice, but you get the idea!)

Fresh Frog of Bel-Air..

Continuing with the Muppets Collection, today I will be showing you what I did with Fresh Frog of Bel-Air (HL C12).  This is part of the glitters in this collection and like Gone Gonzo and Divine Swine (for example) it has micro glitters with silver hexagonal glitters, except they are green micro glitters.  If you pair this with Gettin' Miss Piggy with It you would have a really nice Christmas pair!

Instead of just doing this over a green or blank canvas, I decided to put it over Black Onyx.  I feel as though it really made the green pop and look really nice.  I think it toned down the Christmas-y feel that it had before..
